My Mother, Mary,” a documentary film about the island of Grenada, tells a Caribbean story of freedom and migration through the eyes of Grenadians themselves, one of them being a Grenadian woman who has lived through the island’s tumultuous history— Mary Donald.
The film is an homage to Grenadian people and their contributions to the world we know of today in ways most people do not know of or realize. The film also aims to contextualize the political upheaval in 1983 and honor the continuous resistance of Grenadian people throughout the island’s long history.
